CompletedAl-Qalaa Central Water Well Construction Project in Central Khan Younis
CMWU has completed the drilling and construction of the Al-Qalaa Central Water Well in the center of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, funded by UNICEF and implemented in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality. This intervention is part of CMWU’s efforts to strengthen water resources and improve the capacity of the water supply system to meet the growing needs of the population.
CompletedRehabilitation of Al-Matāhin Al-Jadeed and Abu Mariziq Water Wells to Enhance Water Supply in Al-Qarara
CMWU, in cooperation with EcoPeace Middle East and Al-Qarara Municipality, completed the rehabilitation of Al-Matāhin Al-Jadeed Water Well in Al-Qarara, which had been completely destroyed. The intervention aims to strengthen water sources and improve access to water for residents and displaced people.
CompletedRehabilitation and Maintenance Project for Three Wastewater Networks in Various Areas of Khan Younis City
The project included the rehabilitation and maintenance of three wastewater networks in Al-Manshiya, Al-Kusaikha, and Abu Shamlah areas of Khan Younis Governorate. The works aim to enhance the networks’ capacity to collect and convey wastewater from the served residential areas, to the maximum extent possible under the current conditions, while reducing wastewater overflows and associated public health hazards.
CompletedCleaning and Rehabilitation Project for the Sheikh Ajleen Wastewater Treatment Plant in Gaza City
The works were carried out as a preliminary step toward restoring the plant’s operation. They included removing accumulated sediment, sludge, and sand from treatment ponds and channels, pumping stagnant water, clearing vegetation and debris, and transporting waste to environmentally approved disposal sites. The works also included repairing concrete ponds, addressing cracks and damage, and servicing and lubricating control gates to ensure their readiness for operation.
CompletedRehabilitation Project for the “Northern UNRWA” Water Well in Khan Younis City
The well serves the western neighborhoods of Khan Younis City, supplying the Al-Buraq Reservoir operated by Khan Younis Municipality. The reservoir, in turn, distributes water to several areas, including the Japanese Neighborhood, Emirati Neighborhood, Dutch Neighborhood, Western Camp, and Al-Amal Neighborhood.
CompletedAl-Manshiya Desalination Plant Construction Project in Gaza City
CMWU implemented the construction works for the Al-Manshiya Desalination Plant in Gaza City as part of its ongoing efforts to increase the availability of safe drinking water and improve the level of services provided to residents, amid the ongoing challenges in the Gaza Strip, particularly following the extensive damage to water facilities in the city.
CompletedSupply and Installation Project of 20-Cubic-Meter Galvanized Steel Water Tanks
This intervention is part of CMWU’s ongoing efforts to strengthen water resources and improve the continuity of water supply to shelters and residential communities in southern Gaza Strip. The project aims to increase water storage capacity at several vital locations experiencing high population density due to displacement, helping ensure regular water services and meet the daily needs of residents and service institutions.
CompletedMaintenance and Rehabilitation Project for the Southern UNRWA Water Well in Khan Younis City
CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality, with support from UNICEF and in partnership with Oxfam, carried out maintenance and rehabilitation works on the Southern UNRWA Water Well in Khan Younis City, fully restoring it to service. The well is a key source of water supply for the western area of Khan Younis City, serving more than 20,000 residents.
CompletedMaintenance and Rehabilitation Project for Al-Sater (2) Water Well in Khan Younis
CMWU carried out maintenance and rehabilitation works on Al-Sater (2) Water Well in Khan Younis City, restoring it to service in partnership with Oxfam and Khan Younis Municipality, after the well was completely destroyed during the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
