CMWU supplies more than 30,000 displaced persons in Rafah Mawasi with water via a tanker with Emirati support, despite the destruction of the Ibn Taymiyyah plant.
CMWU is supplying more than 30,000 displaced persons in the Mawasi area west of Rafah city with drinking water, by dedicating one of the tankers supplied as part of Operation Al-Fares Al-Shahm 3, funded by the United Arab Emirates, with a capacity of 20,000 liters.
It is worth noting that despite the ground military operation the Israeli occupation launched at the beginning of this month east of Rafah city, during which the occupation destroyed a number of water and sanitation facilities, most notably the Ibn Taymiyyah desalination plant, which used to supply about 100,000 people with desalinated water, CMWU's teams are still carrying out their duty of supplying citizens and displaced persons with water and sanitation services, by pumping water from the western wells, in addition to transporting and distributing desalinated water from the Emirati desalination plant with support from local and international partners, and continuing to operate the sewage pumping stations to prevent sewage flooding toward displaced persons' tents in the western area of Rafah.
