CMWU began carrying out comprehensive upgrade and maintenance works on the desalinated water transmission line for the South seawater desalination plant, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the water distribution system and strengthen the service provided to residents amid the current emergency conditions.
This move comes after the plant's permanent electricity line was reconnected, enabling it to operate at its full production capacity of up to 20,000 cubic meters daily.
These upgrade works and repairs are expected to contribute to raising distribution efficiency, reducing losses, and removing encroachments on the line, ensuring the widest possible coverage of the target residential areas and displacement centers in Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and the surrounding areas.
