CMWU's technical teams, funded by UNICEF, completed connecting, installing, testing, and fully operating a solar-powered mobile desalination plant with a capacity of 16 cubic meters per day, to serve displaced persons at the Al-Aqloq School shelter center in Deir al-Balah, enabling the provision of drinking water to displaced persons there.
This comes as part of efforts aimed at securing the drinking water needs of the residents of the Gaza Strip across the various displacement and shelter areas.
The water utility's engineering and technical teams installed, operated, calibrated, and tested the advanced, portable, bag-based mobile desalination unit.
It is worth noting that this advanced, unique plant, entering service for the first time in Palestine, is capable of desalinating any type of saline water, even seawater, without the use of chemicals, and operates entirely on solar power.
