CMWU, funded by UNICEF, addressed sewage overflow next to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis by replacing a 50-meter line.
CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality and funded by UNICEF, carried out the initial treatment of the sewage overflow problem on the street adjacent to Nasser Medical Hospital west of the city.
It is worth noting that the sewage overflow problem on the street adjacent to Nasser Hospital had recently worsened as a result of Israeli bombardment of one of the sanitation lines in the area, causing the line to become completely blocked as a result of the destruction of the network at the location, exposing the hospital and the neighboring neighborhood to health hazards and diseases as a result of the sewage overflow and its rising level in the street.
The works included maintaining and repairing the damage to the sanitation lines damaged in the area adjacent to the hospital, pumping out the sewage, and then excavating underground to replace the damaged line by installing new sanitation pipes with a length of (50) meters and a diameter of (200) mm, along with installing (2) manholes with different diameters.
