Gaza – CMWU.
CMWU completed installing a solar power system for Al-Kawthar water well in Al-Maghraqa area, with a capacity of 50 kilowatts, funded by Muslim Hands at a total cost estimated at $47,000, in order to increase the number of hours the well operates to ensure supplying residents with a sufficient amount of water, amid the continuing electricity crisis and the unavailability of fuel quantities for operation during power outage periods.
It is worth noting that Al-Kawthar well is one of the main wells feeding Al-Kawthar water reservoir, which serves both Al-Zahra and Al-Maghraqa municipalities, with the number of beneficiaries from the project estimated at about 14,000 people.
