CMWU, in partnership with the Palestinian Environmental Friends Association, completed implementing the solar power project for Al-Shawka desalination plant in Rafah city, with a capacity of 53 kilowatts, supported by the Humanitarian Fund in Palestine through Oxfam, at a total cost of $40,000. It is expected that operating Al-Shawka desalination plant using solar power will ensure the continuation of the plant's operation permanently, thus improving water services for the residents of Al-Shawka. It is worth noting that the number of beneficiaries from the plant is about 7,000 people.
