As part of the emergency efforts to address the effects of the storm, CMWU crews deployed their heavy machinery designated for pumping out and unblocking rainwater and sanitation drainage lines and networks, to work urgently in the Khan Younis Mawasi area.
This step comes in response to a number of reports received about rainwater flooding at shelter centers, where field crews began working to address the water accumulations and open drainage paths to ease the damage on citizens and displaced persons.
The Utility affirmed that its crews are working around the clock to monitor the field situation in low-lying areas and shelter centers, as part of its emergency plan to ensure the continuity of essential services during the difficult weather conditions.
