Securing a Number of Water and Sanitation Facilities with Permanent Electricity Lines
Gaza – CMWU
Funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, supervised and followed up by CMWU, in cooperation with the Electricity Distribution Company, and implemented by Al-Saqa and Khudari Company, the securing of a number of water and sanitation facilities with additional electricity lines to provide a permanent source of electrical power for these facilities was recently completed.
It is worth noting that the project targeted "Al-Samer" sewage station in Gaza, "Hawaber" sewage station in Jabalia, the groundwater reservoir in Rafah, and "Aslan 4" sewage pump in Beit Lahia.
This project comes as part of the "Raising Emergency Preparedness" program funded by the Red Cross, at a total cost estimated at 1,176,350 shekels, aiming to secure water and sanitation facilities with a permanent or semi-permanent source of electricity in cases of wars and disasters, and ease the burden of providing fuel.
It is worth noting that the project was carried out with full cooperation from the Electricity Distribution Company in terms of conducting, following up, and supervising the necessary technical studies at the targeted sites.
