
CMWU, with support from the Red Cross, carried out emergency maintenance on ten water and sanitation lines in the Al-Rimal, Al-Nasr, Al-Zeitoun, and Tal al-Hawa neighborhoods of Gaza.
CMWU, in cooperation with Gaza Municipality and with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross, carried out a number of emergency maintenance works on water and sanitation networks in various areas of Gaza City, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the continuity of essential services and ease the impact of the damage sustained by infrastructure.
The works included the following:
- Maintenance of a water line next to Sheikh Radwan pond.
- Maintenance of a water line in Sheikh Radwan, Third Street, next to Rumouz Al-Nakheel.
- Maintenance of a water line next to Bank of Palestine, Al-Nasr neighborhood.
- Maintenance of a water line in Al-Rimal neighborhood opposite Taiba Tower 3.
- Maintenance of a water line east of Al-Sina'a Street opposite Al-Rahma Mosque.
- Maintenance of part of the sanitation networks around the Jordanian Hospital, Tal al-Hawa.
- Desludging and cleaning of manholes and sanitation networks around Al-Furqan Mosque, Tal al-Hawa.
- Desludging and cleaning of manholes and sanitation networks in Al-Nasr neighborhood opposite the meat market.
- Desludging and cleaning of manholes and sanitation networks in Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, Al-Basateen Street.
- Carrying out maintenance and cleaning works on water and sanitation networks in a number of other areas within the city.
This intervention is part of the ongoing efforts made by CMWU, in cooperation with the municipalities and international partners, to ensure the provision of water and sanitation services at the minimum level for residents amid the difficult conditions and significant damage sustained by infrastructure.
