Implementation of Emergency Maintenance on the Sanitation Network in the Abu Shammala Area of Khan Younis to Address War-Related Damage
CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality, and funded by Oxfam, carried out emergency maintenance works on part of the sanitation network damaged by the Israeli war, in the Western Camp area of Abu Shammala, as part of the emergency maintenance project for sanitation lines and manholes in Khan Younis.
The works included installing an 80cm-diameter manhole, extending 8-inch pipes over 30 meters, in addition to cleaning eight manholes, installing the necessary concrete pieces to complete the works, and maintaining the damaged manholes in terms of covers, rings, and lids.
This intervention is part of efforts aimed at improving infrastructure and restoring essential services to citizens, particularly in areas that sustained destruction as a result of the war, contributing to strengthening the health and environmental situation in the city.
