CMWU crews carried out emergency maintenance work on the desalination plant at the Al-Aqloq shelter center in the center of Deir al-Balah city, as part of the Utility's regular follow-up of desalination plants operating in various areas of the Gaza Strip, aiming to ensure the continued provision of safe drinking water to displaced persons and residents.
The maintenance work included addressing the technical faults that had affected the plant and restoring it to efficient operation, ensuring the continued supply of safe, consumable drinking water to displaced persons inside the shelter center.
It is worth noting that CMWU had previously installed this mobile plant inside the shelter center, as part of its efforts to strengthen displaced persons' access to drinking water amid difficult humanitarian conditions and the continued need to provide essential services.
The plant has a production capacity of 16 cubic meters of desalinated, drinkable water per day, and serves about 4,000 displaced persons residing at the Al-Aqloq shelter center in Deir al-Balah city.
