CMWU, with support from UNICEF, maintained damaged main water lines in Tal al-Hawa and Al-Sabra in Gaza, serving over 150,000 people.
CMWU, with support from UNICEF and in cooperation with Gaza Municipality, carried out emergency maintenance work on a number of main water lines in the Tal al-Hawa and Al-Sabra neighborhood areas of Gaza City, after they sustained severe damage as a result of Israeli bombardment and the military operations that the area witnessed.
The maintenance works covered the Civil Defense area, the Tal al-Hawa towers, Al-Majma Al-Islami, and Al-Sina'a, where these lines serve more than 150,000 people. This intervention is part of efforts aimed at gradually restoring water service after the significant destruction sustained by infrastructure.
This intervention is part of CMWU's ongoing efforts to repair the damage sustained by water networks, and restore the flow of water to the affected residential neighborhoods, aiming to ensure the continuity of service and ease residents' suffering amid the difficult humanitarian conditions.
It is worth noting that water and sanitation facilities in Gaza City sustained severe damage as a result of the Israeli aggression, causing a number of wells and plants to stop operating and disrupting water service to many residential areas.
