CMWU, with support from CARE International and PARC, launched a project to repair the Al-Shifa Hospital desalination plant (500 cubic meters per day).

CMWU announces the launch of a project to repair and rehabilitate the desalination plant at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, with a production capacity of 500 cubic meters per day, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and with support from CARE International and the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committees (PARC).

A field visit to the project site was carried out with the participation of representatives from the partner organizations and the contractor, marking the official start of the rehabilitation works according to the approved work plan.

This project comes after Al-Shifa Hospital and its facilities sustained severe damage as a result of bombardment that struck large parts of the city, leading to the deterioration of essential services, including water services. The hospital is one of the largest and most important hospitals in the Gaza Strip, serving thousands of patients daily, making the rehabilitation of the desalination plant a vital step to ensure the continuity of life-saving health services.
