CMWU maintained and operated the Qarmout desalination plant in Jabalia (8 cubic meters per hour) to serve residents and displaced persons amid scarce water sources.
CMWU crews, in cooperation with Jabalia Municipality, carried out maintenance, installation, and operation work on the Qarmout desalination plant, with a production capacity of 8 cubic meters per hour, in Jabalia, aiming to serve residents and displaced persons in Jabalia, particularly with the onset of summer and the increased need for drinking water, amid scarce water sources and the current conditions facing the sector.
It is worth noting that CMWU's technical teams are intensifying their efforts to maintain and operate the various desalination plants affiliated with the Strip's municipalities, aiming to strengthen drinking water supplies and ensure the continuity of service delivery to residents and displaced persons across the various areas of the Strip.
It is also worth noting that CMWU crews face major challenges in operating and maintaining water facilities, represented by the acute shortage of engine oils, spare parts, and technical supplies needed, which hinders efforts to maintain the continuity of services provided to residents and displaced persons.
