A CMWU delegation visited Deir al-Balah Municipality to congratulate the newly elected municipal council on assuming the administration of the municipal council in the city.
The delegation included CMWU Deputy Executive Director Eng. Omar Shatat, along with a number of department directors and section heads. During the visit, the importance of strengthening joint cooperation and continued coordination was affirmed, contributing to improving the services provided to citizens in Deir al-Balah city.
CMWU Deputy Executive Director Eng. Omar Shatat also affirmed the Utility's keenness to continue cooperation and joint coordination with Deir al-Balah Municipality and the Strip's municipalities, contributing to strengthening the sustainability of water and sanitation services and improving the level of services provided to citizens, stressing the importance of combining everyone's efforts amid the exceptional conditions facing the Gaza Strip.
For his part, Deir al-Balah Mayor Mr. Khalil Abu Samra valued this visit, praising the role and efforts made by CMWU in supporting Deir al-Balah Municipality and the Strip's various municipalities, given their significant impact in preventing the collapse of water and sanitation services and ensuring their continued delivery to citizens and displaced persons despite the difficult conditions.
At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation expressed its wishes for the new municipal council's success in serving the residents and displaced persons of Deir al-Balah city, particularly given the current challenges that require strengthening joint work to maintain the continuity of essential services provided to citizens.
