Maintenance and Field Interventions on Water and Sanitation Networks in Khan Younis

CMWU, with support from the Red Cross, carried out a series of maintenance works on water and sanitation networks in the Al-Mahatta, Al-Balad, Al-Amal, and Al-Muaskar areas of Khan Younis.

CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality and with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross, carried out a series of maintenance works and field interventions on water and sanitation networks in Khan Younis city, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure the continuity of services and improve the quality of water and sanitation for citizens.

The works included extending water lines on Al-Majma Al-Islami Street in the Al-Mahatta area, alongside maintaining a sanitation line and installing a new manhole in the Al-Balad area near the Rafah garage. The crews also carried out maintenance on a sanitation line and cleaned a number of sanitation manholes in Al-Amal neighborhood on Al-Zatma Street.

In the Al-Muaskar areas, interventions included maintaining the sanitation network and cleaning manholes and networks on Al-Khulafa Mosque Street, in addition to maintaining part of the water network on Shaheen Street and Al-Madrasa Street in Al-Amal neighborhood. Manholes and networks on Barbakh and Abu Shammala streets in the same area were also cleaned, to ensure improved network efficiency and reduce any overflow or blockages that could affect the services provided to residents.
