CMWU, with support from UNICEF, maintained damaged sanitation lines in Tal al-Hawa, Burj Al-Kawthar, and Ansar junction in Gaza City, to reduce flooding and contamination risks.
CMWU, in cooperation with Gaza Municipality and with support from UNICEF, carried out maintenance and rehabilitation works on sanitation lines and networks in several scattered areas of Gaza City, including the Tal al-Hawa area near the Al-Saada towers and Al-Awda tower, and the Burj Al-Kawthar area, in addition to the Ansar junction near Al-Baraka building, as part of its ongoing efforts to maintain the continuity of sanitation services and reduce the environmental and health risks resulting from sewage overflow in residential areas.
The works included repairing the damage sustained by the networks and sanitation lines as a result of the war and rehabilitating them to ensure the efficient drainage of sewage and prevent flooding or leaks that could affect the safety of citizens and the surrounding environment, providing services at the minimum level given the significant damage sustained by infrastructure.
These interventions are part of the Utility's ongoing efforts to respond to urgent needs and strengthen the level of essential services provided to residents in the various areas of Gaza City.
