Maintenance of Al-Rawda Desalination Plant in Al-Zawayda

CMWU carried out maintenance work on the Al-Rawda desalination plant in Al-Zawayda, central Gaza Strip, in order to prevent the plant from going out of service and to strengthen its operational capacity to meet the daily water needs of residents and displaced persons in the area, at the minimum level possible.

The plant has a production capacity of about 300 cubic meters of water per day, and serves residents and displaced persons in Al-Zawayda, helping to provide water amid difficult humanitarian conditions and growing water needs.

These interventions are part of urgent, life-saving response programs aimed at maintaining the minimum possible level of water services for residents and displaced persons, by making use of available materials and equipment and reusing what can be reused, amid the continued restrictions on bringing equipment, materials, and spare parts into the Gaza Strip.
