The Coastal Municipalities Water Utility (CMWU) carried out maintenance works at the Al-Rawda desalination plant in Al-Zawaida, central Gaza Strip, with the aim of preventing the plant from shutting down and enhancing its operational capacity to meet the daily water needs of residents and displaced people in the area to the greatest extent possible.
The plant has a production capacity of approximately 300 cubic meters of water per day and serves residents and displaced people in Al-Zawaida, contributing to the provision of water amid the difficult humanitarian conditions and growing water needs.
These interventions are part of the emergency and life-saving response programs aimed at maintaining the minimum possible level of water services for residents and displaced people, through making use of available materials and equipment and reusing whatever can be salvaged, amid continued restrictions on the entry of essential equipment, materials, and spare parts into the Gaza Strip.
