The sewage treatment plant in Khan Younis governorate and its associated filtration basins, located east of Khan Younis governorate, are considered among the strategic projects that effectively contribute to upgrading the sewage system, and improving the health and environmental situation in Khan Younis governorate, by ending residents' suffering from the cesspit problem and also ending the pollution of the seashore and benefiting from the treated water by injecting it into the groundwater aquifer and reusing it in the agricultural sector, with the plant receiving about 17,000 m3 daily of sewage water and treating it with high efficiency.
