CMWU crews pumped out sewage from the temporary cesspits at the Al-Aqsa University shelter center west of Khan Younis Governorate, using the water utility's sanitation tankers, to prevent health hazards resulting from sewage overflow, as this center is one of the largest shelter centers in terms of the number of displaced families, with more than 5,500 displaced persons, which could worsen the health crisis as a result of the sewage overflow, particularly amid growing warnings from UN institutions about the outbreak of many diseases and epidemics, including the poliovirus, as sewage is a fertile environment for its spread.
