CMWU received a field trip by the National Institute for Environment and Development at the Central Treatment Plant in Al-Bureij.
CMWU received a field trip organized by the National Institute for Environment and Development "NIED" for a number of trainees, as part of the program to increase the efficiency of technical and vocational education and training for youth in the Palestinian labor market.
The trip's first stop was a visit to the Central Treatment Plant in Al-Bureij, central Gaza Strip, where the participants of the field trip were received by the Acting Director of the Plant Eng. Hashem Taha and the plant's operating engineering staff.
This visit included a field tour inside the treatment plant, in addition to a detailed explanation of the plant's various components and parts and its working mechanism, for the trip's participants.
It is worth noting that the Central Treatment Plant is considered one of the most important strategic projects in the nation's governorates, overseen by CMWU, as the plant is the largest in Palestine and relies on the latest technology in the treatment process.
The trip then headed to the seawater desalination plant south of the Gaza Strip, where the field trip's participants were received by Eng. Kamal Abu Ma'mar, Director of the Desalination Plant, to learn about the plant's various parts, the water desalination process and the stages it goes through, and its importance in improving the water service in the targeted areas.
In turn, Dr. Ahmed Halas, Head of the National Institute for Environment and Development, thanked CMWU for its warm reception and the efforts it makes for the success of the various field trips, also praising its efforts to improve the water and sanitation situation in the Gaza Strip.
