CMWU received a technical delegation from the Red Cross to review its funded projects in Rafah.
CMWU received a technical delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross, aiming to review the projects implemented in Rafah funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, as the delegation visited the Canada water reservoir to review the solar power system established at the reservoir in 2018, in order to improve the water service in terms of quantity and quality for the areas benefiting from it. The reservoir also receives desalinated water from the seawater desalination plant south of the Gaza Strip, and the reservoir currently operates around the clock as a result of the establishment of the solar power plant and the permanent power line.
The delegation also visited the UNDP water well, for which a remote control system was established via mobile phone, to facilitate the process of controlling it, particularly during emergencies.
The visit also included the sewage treatment plant in Rafah, to follow up on the maintenance works being carried out at the plant, and to review and closely study the site's condition to secure the funding needed to develop the plant in order to raise its efficiency and performance.
