Beginning Implementation of the Development Project for the Main "Al-Bassa" Sewage Pumping Station in Deir al-Balah

CMWU began implementing the project to develop and rehabilitate the main "Al-Bassa" sewage pumping station in Deir al-Balah city, central Gaza Strip, funded by UNICEF and in cooperation with Deir al-Balah Municipality.

This project aims to raise the efficiency of "Al-Bassa" sewage pumping station, strengthen its readiness to operate, and protect its pumps from sediment and dust, particularly during peak hours and the winter season, to prevent the formation of health hazards and sewage overflow at the site and toward the sea.

It is worth noting that "Al-Bassa" pumping station is considered the central pumping station in Deir al-Balah city and serves about 90,000 people.
