Supported by UNICEF, CMWU Supplies Water and Sanitation Facilities in Various Areas of the Gaza Strip with Diesel Fuel

CMWU, supported by UNICEF, supplied various water and sanitation facilities in the Gaza Strip with 50,000 liters of diesel fuel as a first phase, to be followed by additional quantities during the coming few days funded by UNICEF, with additional quantities from the International Committee of the Red Cross.
This comes as part of CMWU's efforts to secure the highest-priority needs of water and sanitation facilities in the various cities of the Gaza Strip, with support from some partner international organizations, amid the continuing worsening of the electricity crisis, represented in the reduced number of connection hours as a result of damage to the power lines feeding the Gaza Strip due to Israeli bombardment of them during the recent war and its refusal to allow specialized crews to repair them on one hand, and not allowing the fuel needed to operate the Strip's sole power generation plant on the other, which negatively affects the operation of the various facilities.
CMWU, in cooperation with the Water Authority and numerous relief organizations in the Gaza Strip, is working to provide the quantities of diesel fuel needed, to ensure the operation of those important and vital facilities for the greatest possible number of hours and thereby continue supplying residents with water and sanitation services.
