CMWU Receives a Study Trip Organized by the Palestinian Youth Network for Environmental Change "PYNEC"

CMWU received the "Environmental Bloggers Bus" study trip organized by the Palestinian Youth Network for Environmental Change "PYNEC" for a number of people interested in environmental affairs, with the trip including a visit to the two desalination plants in the middle and north of the Strip, in addition to Sheikh Radwan reservoir in Gaza city.
The trip's participants were accompanied by a specialized team from CMWU consisting of Eng. Mo'taz Abu Al-Qumbuz, Eng. Bashar Shahin, Eng. Saadi Ali, and Eng. Ahmed Al-Rubaie, with CMWU's team providing a detailed explanation of the mechanism of operation of those facilities and their importance, in addition to the difficulties and challenges facing their operation.
In this context, Eng. Hanin Al-Sabaihi, coordinator of the Environmental Bloggers Bus in the Gaza Strip, explained that this tour is the fourteenth at the Palestine level, noting that this tour was the only one during the year as a result of the emergency circumstances imposed by the coronavirus pandemic in Palestine.
Al-Sabaihi added that three facilities affiliated with CMWU were chosen to be visited, as CMWU is considered one of the most important institutions concerned with managing, operating, and upgrading water and sanitation services according to organized strategic plans, with this tour coming with the aim of introducing Palestinian citizens, those interested in environmental affairs, and social media pioneers to the water situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as the strategic water desalination projects that CMWU supervised and participated in implementing, in order to press decision-makers to continue supporting the development of such projects, which came to ease what the residents of the Gaza Strip suffer from, as they receive water from wells with high salinity that does not meet the quality standards for household consumption.
