CMWU Receives a Delegation from the International Quartet

CMWU received a delegation from the International Quartet and a representative of the Director of Cooperation and Development at the German Representative Office in the Palestinian Territories, Bettina Clarissman, with the delegation visiting the central sewage treatment plant for Gaza city and the middle area.

The visit aims to learn about the problems and obstacles facing the implementation of the sewage treatment plant project and discuss how to overcome these obstacles.

Eng. Monther Shoblaq, CMWU's Director-General, welcomed the visiting delegation and the German Representative Office, thanking the German government for providing the grant necessary to build the plant's first phase, and also thanked the International Quartet for its interest in these strategic projects.

For his part, Eng. Fareed Ashour, Director of the Treatment Project, affirmed the existence of some obstacles hindering the continuation of implementing the project's works, represented in not allowing the entry of all the materials necessary for the project and not permitting the construction of project-related buildings at certain heights, calling on the International Quartet to help and coordinate to overcome these obstacles and bring in all the materials necessary to continue work on the project.

On another note, Clarissman explained the extent of the German government's commitment to implementing this project and providing the rest of the grant necessary to complete it as quickly as possible. She also thanked the International Quartet for its interest in the project and asked them to coordinate directly with the German Representative Office to overcome any obstacles that may face the implementation of this project.
