CMWU began implementing a project to install rainwater networks in Rafah and Khan Younis governorates, aiming to raise the state of readiness to receive the rainy season and protect residents and their property from the risks of rainwater flooding, particularly residents of low-lying areas.
This project includes constructing a rainwater line from Bani Suheila roundabout to Hamid roundabout in Khan Younis city, south of the Gaza Strip, in addition to cleaning the main rainwater collection basin in Rafah near the border strip, Al-Jineina basin, and Al-Najili station, in addition to cleaning all rainwater catch basins in Rafah.
The project also includes constructing injection wells on Omar bin Al-Khattab Street near the entrance to Rafah city.
It is worth noting that this project comes as part of a series of projects CMWU carries out as part of preparing for the rainy season annually.
