CMWU, funded by the International Committee of the Red Cross, began implementing a project to construct a concrete protection wall, in order to protect the beach wells of "Al-Bassa" seawater desalination plant in the Central Governorate, in addition to the electricity buildings affiliated with those wells, from the risks of sea waves washing them away, which would lead to their destruction and going out of service.
It is worth noting that the seawater desalination plant serves the residents of Deir al-Balah city, numbering about 85,000 people, and contributes to improving the quality of water provided to residents and easing the burden on the groundwater aquifer, with the number of its operating hours expected to increase during the coming period to include the residents of Al-Zawayda town.
