CMWU installed and operated a mobile desalination plant at Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat city, central Gaza Strip, aiming to provide drinking water to the hospital amid the current conditions facing the Strip.
The water utility's engineering and technical teams installed, operated, calibrated, and tested the mobile desalination unit, which is distinguished by advanced technology and a portable, bag-based design, with a production capacity of up to 16 cubic meters per day.
It is worth noting that this plant was supplied with support from UNICEF and had previously been installed at a shelter center in Rafah city, and was relocated during the military operation on the city.
This advanced and unique plant, entering service for the first time in Palestine, is capable of desalinating all types of saline water, including seawater, without the need for chemicals, relying entirely on solar power for its operation.
This project is part of CMWU's ongoing efforts to improve water services in the Gaza Strip and strengthen the resilience of health institutions amid ongoing challenges.
