CMWU Installs Desalination Plants to Provide Drinking Water in Central and Southern Gaza
CMWU, in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, installed desalination plants in several areas of the central and southern Gaza Strip, aiming to provide drinking water to residents and displaced persons. This project comes amid the continuing Israeli war and the growing need for safe drinking water.
The project included installing seven desalination plants, six with a capacity of 50 cubic meters per day and one with a capacity of 100 cubic meters per day. A desalination plant was installed in the Ma'an area, at Bir Ayya, and other areas in Khan Younis, and a desalination plant was installed next to Ailaboun School in Al-Qarara, in addition to a desalination plant in Al-Maghazi camp.
This project is an important step to ease residents' suffering and ensure the provision of clean water amid the difficult humanitarian conditions facing the Strip.
