CMWU Distributes Protective Tools and First-Aid Kits to All the Gaza Strip's Municipalities
Gaza / CMWU
CMWU began this morning, funded by the Office of the UN Special Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs "OCHA" through the Norwegian Refugee Council, distributing protective tools and first-aid kits to all workers in the water and sanitation sector affiliated with the Gaza Strip's various municipalities, aiming to protect them from the risks of the coronavirus spreading in the Gaza Strip, particularly after the emergence of cases outside quarantine centers.
In addition, CMWU, during the past week and yesterday and funded by Islamic Relief, distributed chlorine solution to all municipalities of the Strip, for use in disinfecting places and public facilities under those municipalities' jurisdiction.
It is worth noting that the process of distributing chlorine solution to the municipalities took place before the announcement of the emergence of cases outside quarantine centers, coming as part of CMWU's program aiming to strengthen coronavirus-related preventive measures, with CMWU having, since the declaration of the state of emergency in Palestinian territory, set up a program including numerous activities and measures aiming to strengthen preventive measures and qualify and train workers in the water and sanitation sector to work during emergency situations and the pandemic's spread within the Gaza Strip.
