CMWU, in cooperation with Nuseirat Municipality, is extending 2,700 meters of sanitation lines to eliminate cesspits.
CMWU, in cooperation with Nuseirat Municipality, continues implementing the project to extend sanitation lines in various areas of Nuseirat, central Gaza Strip.
The project included extending household connections and sanitation lines with diameters ranging between 200-250mm and a total length of about 2,700m in the Abu Ghoula and Ard Al-Louh areas, in addition to Omar bin Al-Khattab Street next to the Abu Sarar intersection.
The project aims to eliminate sewage discharge lines toward the Gaza Valley and eliminate cesspits, which negatively affect the environment and residents' health.
This comes as part of the project to rehabilitate sanitation networks funded by the UN Central Emergency Response Fund through UNICEF, and the project serves about 20,000 people at a total cost of about $460,000.
