As part of CMWU's efforts aimed at improving and strengthening the readiness of the rainwater drainage and sanitation system to receive the winter season, in order to reduce the risks of storms and flooding to residents and their property and make the most of rainwater, CMWU, at its regional headquarters in Rafah, continues work on the rainwater collection basin development project in Al-Jineina neighborhood, Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip, funded by the Office of the UN Special Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs "OCHA" through the Norwegian Refugee Council "NRC", with this project aiming to develop the rainwater collection basin, with the basin's area being about 8,000 square meters and serving more than 45,000 residents of Rafah city's eastern neighborhoods.
In this context, CMWU thanked the Chairman of the Government Emergency Committee in Rafah Dr. Anwar Al-Shaer for his efforts in coordinating the entry of the implementing company's team into Rafah governorate, particularly amid the imposition of the curfew and the declaration of the state of emergency in the Gaza Strip as a result of the coronavirus spreading in the Gaza Strip.
