In Preparation for the Winter Season, CMWU Begins Cleaning Rainwater Filters in Rafah

Gaza / CMWU

CMWU began cleaning rainwater filters in Rafah city, south of the Gaza Strip, with CMWU's crews cleaning those filters of debris and dust that negatively affect the rainwater drainage process, which leads to flooding and the closure of numerous roads during the winter season.

These works come as part of CMWU's program and plan, through which it seeks to strengthen the rainwater drainage and sanitation system and address all problems before the onset of the winter season in all areas of the Gaza Strip, with CMWU inspecting and maintaining water and sanitation networks and preparing all treatment plants and pumping stations throughout the year, as well as maintaining and distributing mobile pumps and vacuum trucks to all the Strip's municipalities, which are used in pumping out water that might clog the transmission lines during rainfall in the winter season.
