CMWU Completes the Installation of Solar Power Systems for a Number of Water Wells

CMWU, funded by the Canadian government through Save the Children, completed implementing the solar power project for a number of water wells affiliated with Wadi Gaza, Rafah, and Khuza'a municipalities, in order to ensure the operation of the wells for a greater number of hours and increase their productivity, in order to improve the water services provided to residents in those areas, whose population is about 25,000 people.
This project comes as part of CMWU's efforts to address the problems resulting from power outages, in addition to its adoption of alternative energy as one of the solutions aimed at ensuring the continuation of the service provided to the targeted areas, reducing operating costs, and contributing to improving the environment, with CMWU's crews having previously installed solar power systems for a number of wells in Gaza city, Khan Younis, Rafah, and other areas.
It is worth noting that the Gaza Strip has, for years, suffered from an electricity outage crisis for long hours, which affects the operation of water and sanitation facilities.
