CMWU Organizes a Training Course Titled "The Art of Providing Service to Subscribers"

CMWU organized a training course titled "The Art of Providing Service to Subscribers," targeting twenty trainees from workers in the subscriber services and public service departments at CMWU and some municipalities, with the training course implemented over three days at 18 training hours, funded by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) through the Water Service Providers Union.

The training course was opened by Eng. Monther Shoblaq, CMWU's Director-General and Chairman of the Palestinian Water Service Providers Union, in the presence of Eng. Mohammed Al-Abwaini, Director of CMWU's headquarters in Rafah, and Eng. Zaidan Dahman, Director of the Subscriber Services Department at the Utility.

In his welcoming speech to the participants, Eng. Monther Shoblaq pointed to the importance CMWU attaches to employees working directly with the public and the beneficiary public alike, through interest in developing employees' skills and capabilities, which is reflected positively on the level of dealing with the public and understanding their needs, and Shoblaq affirmed that the subscriber public is the most important element in the work system.

The training course program addressed several important themes represented in concepts related to the art of dealing with subscribers, planning services for subscriber care and providing distinguished service, the initial character of change and progress in terms of the aspects developed in providing the service, the impact of qualifying employees to care for subscribers on the quality of service, effective communication skills, and dealing with the different types of subscribers.

Through the themes it addressed, the training course aimed to introduce the trainees to what subscriber service means and learn the fundamentals of excellence in providing it by learning the different types of subscribers and how to deal with them according to systematic methods, and teaching them the art and skills of positive listening and effective communication skills to enable them to deal with the different types of subscribers, understand and meet their needs, and overcome any obstacles they face while performing their work.

The training was conducted by Dr. Rushdi Wadi, and at the conclusion of the training course, certificates were distributed to the participants in the presence of Dr. Hazem Al-Masharawi, representative of the German Corporation for International Cooperation.
