CMWU Completes Maintenance Works on the East Abu Shurkh Well in Jabalia
CMWU, in cooperation with Jabalia Municipality and with support from UNICEF, carried out maintenance works on the East Abu Shurkh well in Jabalia city, north of the Gaza Strip, particularly after it sustained severe damage as a result of Israeli bombardment.
The well has a production capacity of about 145 cubic meters per hour and serves about 25,000 people. Its operation will help improve water service for residents, and a new electric generator was supplied to operate the well, with support from UNICEF, to ensure the continued provision of water.
The well is expected to be operated tomorrow for testing, pumping water into the water networks of the areas it serves.
