CMWU Provides Protective Tools, Clothing, and Disinfection Materials for Water and Sanitation Facilities in the Strip

Stemming from its social responsibility and in preserving the safety of residents and its own workers, as well as water and sanitation facilities and installations in the Gaza Strip, CMWU took a series of precautionary and preventive measures to confront the globally spreading coronavirus, with the Utility's permanently convened Emergency Committee issuing urgent appeals to donor institutions to provide the requirements of this emergency situation.
The response was rapid from the Norwegian Refugee Council, which provided protective clothing, vests, and gloves, and disinfection materials including alcohol-based disinfectants and soap, in addition to disinfection sprayers, with funding estimated at about $45,000.
The Utility will soon supply the Strip's municipalities with these tools to distribute them to all workers in the water and sanitation sector, numbering 1,300 employees, throughout the Strip, to preserve their safety, in addition to disinfecting water and sanitation facilities and the workers in this field, to provide the best service and preserve the safety of the homeland and its citizens.
