CMWU continues work on the project to drill a water well at the main groundwater reservoir in Rafah governorate, south of the Gaza Strip, funded by the Office of the UN Special Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) through Oxfam, in partnership with the Palestinian Environmental Friends (PEF) Association, and implemented by Al-Abniya Al-Haditha Company, with this project aiming to strengthen the water sources feeding the reservoir, which leads to improving the quantities of water pumped into the distribution networks in the areas the reservoir supplies with water.
It is worth noting that this reservoir is considered one of the important main water sources in Rafah governorate, as it serves residents in the Al-Brazil, Al-Salam neighborhood, Al-Jineina, and Yibna areas, in addition to the city center, numbering about 140,000 people.
