Inventory and Assessment of CMWU's Emergency Warehouses and Assessment of Emergency Committees' Performance During the Israeli Aggression
Through joint cooperation between CMWU and the International Committee of the Red Cross, and with the end of the recent aggression on the Gaza Strip, and according to the executive protocols stipulated in the readiness plan for wartime and emergencies, which was previously funded with all its components by the Red Cross, field and inspection visits began by the joint technical teams from CMWU, the municipalities, and Red Cross representatives to the regional emergency warehouses, which enabled the completion of the inventory processes for the materials and equipment used and installed to repair water and sanitation facilities and networks, which were targeted during the war on Gaza, which had a positive and effective impact at the environmental and health level, and eased the effects of the destruction inflicted by the Israeli military machine on water and sanitation facilities and networks, and the speed of field performance in implementing most of the emergency and urgent repairs during the war period.
It is worth noting that, through communication and joint cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and in the presence of all members of the emergency committee from CMWU and the various municipalities of the Gaza Strip, a workshop was held regarding discussing the lessons learned from implementing the various components of the wartime readiness plan, and work will be done to submit all requirements, whether related to the materials and equipment that were depleted or other materials whose need emerged, in addition to logistical requirements supporting field work teams, to all partners in the water sector among the national and international organizations supporting the water sector, with a focus on funding projects to strengthen the resilience and readiness of water and sanitation systems and their ability to face changes during wartime and the speed of operational recovery, in a way that reduces negative impacts and secures an acceptable level of services for residents.
