CMWU, with support from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), carried out emergency maintenance works on Al-Buraq and Al-Rayyan wells in Khan Younis, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure continuity of water supplies and improve access to water services for residents and displaced people.
Al-Buraq Well serves the western areas of Khan Younis and also supplies Al-Buraq Water Reservoir, helping strengthen water supplies in these areas.
Al-Rayyan Well serves Al-Rayyan shelter, located west of Al-Kanis area within the Rafah service area, and helps provide water to more than 15,000 residents and displaced people.
These works are part of CMWU’s ongoing efforts, in cooperation with its partners, to maintain the operation of water sources and improve access to drinking water amid the current humanitarian conditions.
