CMWU, in cooperation with Khan Younis Municipality and the Palestinian Palm Association for Development, has commenced maintenance and repair works on wastewater networks in several areas of Khan Younis City, as part of the Emergency Response Project for Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), funded by the United Nations Humanitarian Fund for the Occupied Palestinian Territory (oPt HF).

The works include maintenance of wastewater networks in Al-Amal Neighborhood, specifically around Hamza Mosque, Hisham Amer Block, and the area opposite the Red Crescent Hospital, in addition to maintenance of several wastewater points in the city center, including Al-Dananir Street and the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Community College.

These interventions aim to improve the efficiency of wastewater services and reduce overflows and leaks, contributing to the protection of public health and the reduction of environmental risks, particularly amid the exceptional humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
