CMWU, in cooperation with Al-Nuseirat Municipality and with funding from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), completed maintenance works at the Al-Hassaina Wastewater Pumping Station in west Al-Nuseirat, as part of ongoing efforts to maintain the sustainability of wastewater services and enhance the operational efficiency of critical facilities.
The works included replacing valves, check valves, and a number of fully damaged and deteriorated components, ensuring the continued operation of the station, improving its operational efficiency, and reducing failures that could affect wastewater services in the area.
These works are part of joint efforts to improve the performance and operational efficiency of wastewater pumping stations, contributing to environmental and public health protection and reducing environmental risks, particularly amid the exceptional conditions in the Gaza Strip.
The Al-Hassaina Wastewater Pumping Station in west Al-Nuseirat is considered one of the area’s key strategic wastewater facilities, serving a large population, particularly in light of the significant number of displaced people in the area.
