CMWU, in cooperation with Al-Bureij Municipality, continues to carry out septic tank emptying works in a number of shelters in Al-Bureij Camp in central Gaza Strip, helping to reduce health and environmental risks and improve living conditions for displaced people.
The works are part of ongoing efforts to address the needs of shelters, with emptying operations set to continue in other shelters within Al-Bureij Municipality’s area of jurisdiction, in accordance with the approved work plan.
CMWU teams continue to monitor shelters and public facilities and carry out necessary interventions to mitigate health and environmental hazards resulting from sewage overflows, despite severe shortages and restrictions on essential maintenance supplies for heavy wastewater equipment, which limit the ability to respond to needs as required.
