CMWU Carries Out Maintenance Works on the Wastewater Network in the Al-Gharabli Area and Along the Seashore in Deir Al-Balah

Published on

CMWU, in cooperation with Deir Al-Balah Municipality, carried out maintenance and repair works on the wastewater network in the western area of Burj Al-Gharabli and along the seashore, as part of the Heavy Machinery Rental and Provision of Skilled Labor and Technicians Project, funded by the ICRC.

The works included locating a 600 mm-diameter wastewater line and repairing the damaged section by installing a reinforcement and repair joint of the same diameter. The line was also cleaned and cleared of obstructions to ensure the smooth flow of wastewater.

The intervention also included opening a drainage channel through the beach sand to allow wastewater to flow from the Box Culvert outlet toward the sea, as well as cleaning the end of the culvert. These works contribute to reducing wastewater accumulation, addressing the resulting environmental and public health hazard, and improving drainage efficiency in the area.
