
CMWU, in partnership with Oxfam and the Palestinian Environmental Friends Association, responded to a sanitation crisis at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, protecting wards from contamination.
Israel's war on Gaza destroyed essential systems, particularly the sewage infrastructure in Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, posing serious health risks to patients.
Sewage systems were blocked due to debris accumulation.
There was heightened infection risk from sewage exposure.
Hospital wards were threatened with the breakdown of sewage pumps.
In response, Oxfam, in partnership with the Palestinian Environmental Friends (PEF) and CMWU, initiated a rehabilitation of the sewage facilities, safeguarding hospital wards from contamination and working to increase patient health and safety.
