Work Begins on the Project to Maintain and Extend the Sanitation Line on Souq Street in Deir al-Balah Camp

CMWU, in partnership with and funded by the Ma'an Development Center, and in cooperation with Deir al-Balah Municipality, began implementing a project to maintain and extend the sanitation line on Souq Street, Deir al-Balah camp, central Gaza Strip.

This comes to solve the health overflow problem the camp's residents suffer from as a result of the destruction of sanitation lines during the continued Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip. The project aims to solve the sewage overflow problem the area's residents suffer from.

The new 355mm-diameter sanitation line and 1.00-meter-diameter manholes will significantly help solve the environmental and health problems residents suffer from and end the persistent overflow problem on the camp's streets. In addition, the existing 200mm and 160mm-diameter lines will be connected to the new network to ensure the continuity and improvement of service.
