CMWU, funded by the State of Kuwait through UNICEF, launched the rainwater drainage project in Al-Wafiya area in Khan Younis city, south of the Gaza Strip, with the project also including installing solar power systems for a number of water and sanitation facilities, with this project serving about 350,000 people.
This came during a preparatory meeting held at CMWU's headquarters, in the presence of Eng. Maher Al-Najjar, Deputy Director-General for Planning and Projects Affairs, Eng. Mo'taz Abu Al-Qumbuz, Eng. Mohammed Sorour, Eng. Yasmin Bashir, and Eng. Hana' Awad – CMWU, in addition to representatives from UNICEF, Khan Younis Municipality, and the project's consulting office.
